A Caregiver Conversation by Carallel: Five Tips to Ease Our Holiday Stress as Caregivers
The holidays are right around the corner and we’re using this Caregiver Conversation by Carallel to get prepared for the season. Because while it’s common for the season to bring joy, merriment, and run of the mill family stress–it can bring an entirely different brand of stress for those of us who are caring for a loved one.
So Matt Perrin, Director of Caregiver Engagement, is joined by Jennifer Piscitello and Candice Holloway from our Care Advocate team, to discuss.
They deconstruct uniquely intense holiday stress for family caregivers and share five practical tips to manage it.
Jennifer focuses on providing caregivers with the tools, education, and guidance they need to navigate the caregiver journey. This includes providing support for Carallel’s digital platform. Jennifer earned BA from Iowa State University and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, yoga, tennis, biking, and scrapbooking.
Candice is a Masters level Gerontologist, with over ten years’ experience in the field of Gerontology. Specifically specializing in Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia and how it affects the caregiver. She brings that expertise and a huge heart to her work supporting, guiding, and assisting family caregivers each day as a Care Advocate.
Matt spent 8+ years as a family caregiver for his mother who was living with Alzheimer’s Disease. At Carallel, Matt drives the digital content development and distribution strategy. His focus is on supporting caregivers by providing the practical, relatable, and informative perspective people need — wherever they may be in their journey of caring for a loved one.
